Founder, Senior Speech Pathologist.
I started Nature Talking in 2023 because I knew there had to be a better way. The clients I was seeing werenโt thriving in traditional clinic rooms or school settings but their parents often told me how much they lit up outside. That resonated deeply with me, having grown up surrounded by the bush and coastlines of Aotearoa (New Zealand).
As I began diving into the research on nature-based learning and development, it confirmed what Iโd always intuitively known, That nature time is really good for kids. It supports emotional and sensory regulation. Itโs good for the body and good for the soul. All of these things contribute to nature being a perfect environment for communication.
Iโve spent years exploring how to adapt speech pathology to outdoor environments. In my clinical work, I take a parent-coaching approach, working closely with families and communication partners to build on their unique strengths.
Iโm especially passionate about supporting social participation goals, and creating space for all forms of communication, whether thatโs through speech, AAC, gesture, or movement.
I am a deeply reflective practitioner and I am personally committed to provide therapy that aims to be neurodiversity affirming, ableist culturally responsive and good for the earth. -
Therapy Assistant and SLP Student
I'm a speech pathology student and allied health assistant with a passion for lifelong learning and exploration. My personal struggles with communication and social connections inspired me to pursue speech pathology. Through this field, I can enhance my knowledge to empower others, as well as myself, in building self-confidence and overcoming barriers that prevent reaching full potential.
Beyond my studies and work, I find joy in creativity and innovation. I've always enjoyed crafting and bringing new ideas to life using materials from home. Music is another significant passion. I delight in exploring various genres, watching Broadway musicals, singing, and playing the piano.
