Dyad Speech Therapy Sessions
We offer paired sessions where two children meet weekly during school terms. These sessions provide opportunities for children to interact and practice social communication together.
Your first visit involves observing your child during play and discussing their current play experiences. We talk with you about what happens during play at home and conduct educator consultations about play at school/childcare.
During sessions, both children engage in play activities with support. Parents/caregivers attend the sessions, and we discuss strategies for supporting play in other settings. We provide educator coaching to support consistent strategies across environments.
Sessions take place at our nature-based setting in Thornbury, Naarm.
Frequently asked questions

Absolutely! If you are self-managed or plan to go part self-managed for speech therapy services, you can use your NDIS funds for this program. If you need any assistance or guidance with this process, please don't hesitate to discuss it with me during your intake meeting. I'm here to help make this as smooth as possible for you.

We offer fortnightly or weekly options for sessions and can be flexible with this once you are booked in. We do not work with new clients seeking monthly sessions, but can reduce frequency of sessions for pre-existing clients where there is a need for this.
-
After completing a dyad block, we'll meet to review your child's progress and discuss the best path forward. This might include taking a break to practice new skills, joining another dyad block with a different peer, or exploring other therapy options that better match your child's current needs. Together, we'll look at how your child has grown in their play skills and create a clear plan that supports their continued social development.
-
To ensure that we can focus fully on your child's needs and progress, it's best to have just the parent and the child together during the sessions. However, I understand that sometimes life happens, and if there is the odd occasion where a sibling needs to join, we can accommodate that.

We understand that life with children can be unpredictable! While we try our best to be flexible, cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice incur the full session fee, and cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice incur 50% of the fee. During these times, we'll still work on resources and planning for your child. These policies help us balance supporting families while maintaining our small team's sustainability.

If you have concerns about your child's communication development, even if they haven't received a formal diagnosis, this program can still be beneficial. The strategies and support provided can help boost your child's communication skills and address any potential challenges early on.
